PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

January 2012
Dear fellow FPA members,
Happy New Year, FPA San Diego Friends!
I am writing on the last business day of 2011 while reflecting on the highs and lows of this year. Just having indulged with my office in a Sammy’s bon voyage lunch, I am thinking about the effects of great celebrating that we’ll have to pay for next year and am grateful to have the means to celebrate. As professionals in the financial planning industry, we probably look at this balancing act more critically than most people because it is our calling to watch over and advise others.
Whether it’s investment management, practice management, or lifestyle management, I expect we analyze the input and outcome more than most. The FPA, your industry’s professional organization, is tasked with helping you make the most of the effort and energy you spend toward positive outcome. At this month’s San Diego Chapter Board strategic planning meeting, we tackled the many variables your input has told us are important and we trust the plans that came out of the meeting will be helpful to you. |
Specifically, the top initiatives we are working on are:
- A total revamp of our website to give you, your clients and prospects, and collaborative professionals a more efficient and informative platform about financial planning opportunities and tools;
- An extremely active support for public awareness and pro bono efforts to aid the many individuals and families in San Diego who need financial planning assistance;
- An intense effort to engage top quality speakers and programs to help you achieve high level education at our chapter meetings and study groups, as well as to gain recognition among related professionals for our events; and
- A dedication to partner with collaborative professions and further the necessity of financial planners as critical and expert advisors needed in all client cases.
Big agenda and we, your 2012 Board, will be calling on you for your help as we work together to keep our Chapter and ourselves strong and balanced. Best wishes for a great New Year!
Sincerely,
Leslie S. Klein, CFP®
